as this is my first icon tutorial, feedback would be great. dont hold back, tell me if my tutorial is easy to follow & achievable. by all means, use my tutorial, but dont make your icon an exact replica of the icon i have used in the tutorial. use these steps as a guideline, nothing more.

1. Start with this image:![]()
2. Crop the image to 100 X 100 pixels:![]()
3. Duplicate (layer duplicate layer) the layer
4. On the layer drop down box, select overlay.![]()
5. Your icon should now look like this:![]()
6. Select the blur tool (filter blur gaussian blur)
7. Set the radius to 2.9 pixels and click OK.
8. Your icon should now look like this:![]()
9. Set foreground colour to #FFFFFF and background colour to #000000![]()
10. Select the gradient map tool (image adjustments gradient map)
11. Your selected foreground and background colours should apply to the map. Click OK.![]()
12. Your icon should now look like this:![]()
13. Make a new layer (layer new layer)
14. Select your text brush if you have any installed. If you do not, leave this step out and make your own text by selecting the T on the left-side palette. I used font colour #A8A8A8 for the text brush, but what colour you use is entirely up to you.![]()
