Welcome to crashicons, an icon & graphics journal by affirmative.

What can be found here? Icons for a start. TV/Movies (animated & non-animated), actors & actresses, comic book themed, music (bands & singers), models, and celebrities. Graphics found other than icons are mostly friends-only banners & userinfo graphics.

I NOW CAP MOVIES, TV SHOWS & MUSIC VIDEOS. These are capped by me, and only me. If you use the caps, please show some respect and credit crashicons if you use the images in either icons or layouts.

I dont make brushes or mood themes, so please dont ask, if youre that stupid to ignore the rules & info, I dont think you deserve a reply. I do, however reply to questions not stated on my info.

When taking an icon/graphic, please take the following into account:

COMMENTING Commenting isnt necessary, but it is appreciated. I love feedback on my icons and Im not afraid of a touch of critisism. I dont bite, so long as youre not looking for trouble.

CREDITING Please credit the icons to CRASHICONS, not AFFIRMATIVE. I put work into my icons, and I dont appreciate people passing them off as their own. It takes a couple of seconds to credit me in the keywords. If you dont know how, you only have to ask and I will be glad to tell you.

HOTLINKING No, no, no! For the time being, I am storing my icons on my personal domain & I will not be happy if the icons are being hotlinked, because I have limited bandwith on the server, so have a heart. Save to your computer & upload your icons from there. Dont know how? Again, I will be only too happy to help.

EDITING ICONS Just because some of my icons are textless, please do not assume they are bases. Do not alter the images unless you have my word to do so, and should you have my permission, do not pass them off as your own.

REQUESTS Unless I make a requests post, I will not take requests. Please dont ask, as I'll either ignore your question or it will simply be a no. And refusual really does offend!

WHAT IS HOTLINKING & WHY IS IT WRONG? In simple terms, hotlinking is when you, a Livejournal user, links directly to one of my graphics on crashicons to display on your webpage or journal. An example of this would be direct linking to defuse.org (MY domain which I pay good money for) and using www.defuse.org/greendayicon1.gif as the location of the graphic. This is strictly forbidden and doing this is using my bandwidth which I have to pay for. To avoid hotlinking, save the image to your computer in a location you will remember, and upload the icon or graphic from that location. If you cannot or will not do this, then you dont deserve to use my icons.

CAN I USE YOUR ICONS ON GOODJOURNAL OR XANGA? I dont see why not, as long as I am credited in your keywords (or profile, on xanga). Use my full iconjournal username to avoid confusion and conflict with other journal usernames by typing livejournal.com/users/crashicons. If you are going to use my icons on another website other than Livejournal, for the love of god, let me know! Otherwise I would presume you are using my icons on your LJ account.

DO YOU HAVE ANY ICON TUTORIALS? No, at least not as of yet. Im only just getting my icons and graphics off the ground without having the time to write tutorials. I probably will do in due course, so watch this space.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO AFFILIATE WITH MY ICON JOURNAL/COMMUNITY? Yes, in fact I am looking for affiliates to link to. As you can see, my iconjournal is new & in need of some serious affiliate linking! I am looking for only the best icon journals, as I am very picky! Click here to apply.

WHAT PROGRAMS DO YOU USE? Only the best, Photoshop 7.

WHERE DO YOU FIND YOUR SCREENCAPS & BASE IMAGES? I find my screencaps at cap_it, a livejournal community for screencaps of all kinds (movies, tv, music videos, etc). All other images I google for, or get them from fan & official sites.

WHAT DOES THE SMALL TEXT SAY? Nothing! Many of the brushes I use are 'tiny text', and are for creative purposes only.
